Aug 24 2022 – Reimagining What’s Ahead for a Shared Equity Agenda

The final Summer 2022 internal PFL meeting on education justice. PFL leaders Cyrus Driver and Warren Simmons set the stage for a live working session the ~40-50 or so attending partners would go through to help shape their future strategy and tactics, like coordinating nationally on policies & legislation, working with partner SPLC and Western States Center on “incident tracking” involving who they deem to be “hate groups”.

Nov 2023 – Pre-Watch Video Before 2-Day Network Assembly in Baltimore, MD

PFL Policy Director, Jasmine Bolton, recorded this video with Jennifer Berkshire and Jack Schneider from the Have you Heard podcast. They jump right into their radical views and attacks on Moms for Liberty and any other group that doesn’t fall in line with this transformation of public education they are for. Note: Berkshire & Schneider officially became members of the PFL on Dec 14, 2023.

Dec 4 2023 – Reimagining School Safety: Moving Towards Racially Just, Restorative School Cultures

Top PFL partner, Learning Policy Institute, and other partners in California hosted webinar for public school districts & agencies, organizers, and activists to leverage worsening school safety to further promote Community Schools & Restorative Practices (which are actually key drivers of the decline in school safety)

Dec 12 2023 – Educator Support – Recruitment, Preparation, and Retention meeting

Bi-monthly meeting of workgroup on diversifying the teacher workforce. Topics included rural community outreach & organizing, living wages for recruiters, and partnering with local, state, and federal agencies to achieve their goals

Feb 9 2023 – Shared Story [Narrative] Framing Refresh 2023

Meeting for PFL’s Communications, Media, and PR partners to share and discuss the 2023 refresh of their “narrative framing”

May 26 2021 – Working Session on Leveraging ESSER Funding for Community Schools

Hosted by PFL Partners but invites were extended to a wider audience, primarily individuals from local, state, and national teachers unions. One significant speaker was Jessica Cardichon, a PFL Partner who had recently taken a high-ranking role in the U.S. Department of Education.
